About Me

Hi, my name is Monika Andrea Minaroy. With a background as a practicing psychologist and years of living and working internationally, I created MoMiCo to offer reflective, one-to-one support for people navigating life away from home.

My mission is to use my unique blend of clinical expertise and lived experience to help you find a clearer sense of mind and a new way of being; one that feels true to yourself and aligned with your values.

My Personal Path

My passion for transformative coaching is deeply rooted in my own experiences. I left my home in Indonesia to study in the Netherlands, where I was confronted with a new culture, language, and way of life. Living far from my family for the first time, I needed to stand on my own while juggling multiple jobs to support myself and finish my studies. That’s also where I met my partner; it was an experience that opened me to the beauty and complexity of intercultural relationships.

When I returned home, I faced the unique challenge of readjusting to my own culture and living again with my family after years of being abroad. I also needed to navigate the long-distance relationship and the emotional weight of international marriage bureaucracy.

Since then, I’ve built a family, first in Switzerland, before we decided to settle in Italy, wanting our children to grow up close to their paternal roots. I live daily with the joys and challenges of blending values and traditions, and of passing down my own language and culture.

Becoming a parent in a foreign land has led me to discover the deep, often invisible layers of motherhood far from home: navigating birth and early parenting without my own family nearby, while adapting to a new culture and building a sense of belonging in a new country.

If you’d like to read more about the journey that shaped my work, including my doubts, turning points, and personal lessons learned, you can find it on the blog here.

My Professional Path

In 2014, I completed a master’s degree program in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University, the Netherlands. Afterward, I became a member of the NIP (Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen) and began my career as a practicing psychologist. I later moved to Switzerland, where I joined the FSP (Föderation der Schweizer Psychologinnen und Psychologen) and continued my psychology practice. In 2025, I started training as transformative life coach with Animas Center of Coaching, (accredited by ICF, EMCC, and the AC).

Since the beginning of my work as a psychologist, as well as in my current coaching practice at MoMiCo, I have always combined this path with a full-time corporate job. Finding a corporate role in the Netherlands, Switzerland, as well as in Italy, came with its own set of challenges. Each country has distinct expectations around applications, interviews, and workplace culture.

In all three countries, I worked in fast-paced international companies, collaborating with colleagues and external stakeholders from many parts of the world. Through the constant change, pressure, and uncertainty at work, I came to understand how important it is to create space to pause and breathe, to find meaning in what we do, and to stand by what we value in life.

In 2020, I shifted to full-time remote work. Like many, I try every day to balance being fully present at home while managing the demands of my job. While remote work has given me flexibility, it has also come with its own challenges: blurred boundaries, increased isolation, and the pressure of being constantly available. Within this reality, I’ve had to remind myself to prioritize what matters most and make time for small moments of connection and clarity.

What I Bring to My Coaching

With many years of living and working in different countries and engaging with diverse cultures, I bring a reflective, empathetic, and open-minded approach to coaching. These lived experiences, as well as my psychology background, are an essential part of how I coach. However, please know that at MoMiCo I do not offer clinical diagnoses or psychological interventions. Instead, I offer a calm and safe space where we can work together in partnership, as you navigate your unique personal and professional journey, find clarity, and build a life of purpose.
